UptimeMonkey ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website monitoring service available at uptimemonkey.io and app.uptimemonkey.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

We collect the following information when you create an account or use our service:

Account information: Your username, email address, and hashed password
Monitoring data: The URLs you add for monitoring, check results, response times, and uptime logs
Usage data: Login timestamps and session information
Payment information: Billing details processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers
Communications: Any messages you send to our support email

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide, operate, and maintain the UptimeMonkey service
Send email and SMS alerts when your monitored sites have issues
Process payments and manage your subscription
Send transactional emails (account setup, password reset, trial expiry notices)
Respond to support requests
Improve and develop the service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. Check history and log data is retained for 30 days then automatically deleted.

4. Third-Party Services

Stripe: Payment processing — subject to stripe.com/privacy
Twilio: SMS alert delivery
Email provider: Transactional email delivery

5. Cookies and Sessions

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. These are essential and cannot be disabled. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

7. Account Deletion

Request deletion at hello@uptimemonkey.io. All data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

UptimeMonkey is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
